Work within local schools, collaborating closely with teachers, families, and other professionals to provide essential speech and language services.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid licensure and certification as required for school-based SLPs
- Previous experience in school environments or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Proficiency in evaluating and providing therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
- Comfortable working onsite and engaging with children with diverse backgrounds and needs
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments of students with speech, language, and communication challenges
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Deliver direct therapy services, individually or in small groups, according to student needs
- Maintain thorough documentation of sessions, progress notes, and compliance paperwork
- Partner with teachers, counselors, and families to support student progress and integrate therapy into the school day
- Offer consultation and support to educational staff on best practices and strategies for speech and language support
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multi-disciplinary teams
