Make a meaningful impact working with students as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP, CCC) on a contract basis in a supportive school environment near Portsmouth, VA. Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Speech-Language Pathology license with ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
- Previous experience in school settings preferred, but strong clinical backgrounds also considered
- Skilled in conducting evaluations, developing IEPs, and providing engaging individual and group therapy
- Familiarity with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to student support
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students for speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication challenges
- Document evaluation results and progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Develop and implement customized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy to students both individually and in group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school specialists to integrate therapy into the student’s learning goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing team planning
- Offer guidance and resources to staff and caregivers to support student success
