Speech Language Pathologist in Portsmouth, VA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Speech-Language Pathology license with ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Previous experience in school settings preferred, but strong clinical backgrounds also considered
• Skilled in conducting evaluations, developing IEPs, and providing engaging individual and group therapy
• Familiarity with a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to student support
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess students for speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication challenges
• Document evaluation results and progress in compliance with district and state guidelines
• Develop and implement customized treatment plans and IEP goals
• Provide direct therapy to students both individually and in group settings
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and other school specialists to integrate therapy into the student’s learning goals
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing team planning
• Offer guidance and resources to staff and caregivers to support student success
