Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Portsmouth, VA

Support young learners in developing communication skills by providing speech-language services within an elementary school environment. This contract opportunity is designed for Speech-Language Pathologists with current CCC credentials, looking to make an immediate, meaningful impact with elementary-aged students. You’ll work in an engaging elementary setting, collaborating with educators and families to design interventions that empower students and foster their success inside and outside the classroom.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Active Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
• Valid state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
• Experience in school-based settings and working with elementary populations is preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students to identify communication challenges and determine eligibility for speech-language services
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to elementary-aged children
• Provide direct therapy, both individual and group, using evidence-based interventions
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate communication strategies across learning environments
• Monitor student progress and adjust therapy goals as needed
• Maintain thorough, accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as required
