In this contract position, you’ll collaborate with educators, families, and other specialists to help students achieve their communication goals in a welcoming school setting near Portsmouth, VA.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Active state licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children or in educational settings
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and progress monitoring skills
  • Compassionate communicator and effective collaborator across multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students referred for speech, language, and communication challenges
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals
  • Deliver direct therapy to individuals and small groups in accordance with established plans
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to optimize student outcomes
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation, progress reports, and necessary paperwork in compliance with school and state requirements
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
