Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students ages 5-21 within a specialized educational setting near Queensbury, NY. As a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you’ll play a crucial role in empowering learners with significant needs, including those with level 3 autism, severe cognitive disabilities, considerable behavioral needs, and those who primarily use alternative or non-verbal communication methods.

Your work schedule spans Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, with a start date as soon as possible continuing through the end of the school year—and the potential to work in a year-round capacity. The environment is a close-knit private school comprised of just 78 students across 10 self-contained classrooms, each maintaining an 8:1:3 student-to-staff ratio, ensuring individualized attention and collaboration.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Valid SLP license for New York
• Experience supporting students in grades K-12, ideally across multiple ages and cognitive levels
• Prior success in self-contained or special education environments preferred
• Comfort with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), non-verbal populations, and team-based intervention planning
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group therapy in a dedicated space
• Assess, develop, and implement IEP goals tailored to each student
• Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists
• Support and help train classroom staff in the use of alternative communication methods
• Maintain timely, accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
• Contribute to a nurturing, consistent therapeutic atmosphere
