Make a meaningful impact by providing speech-language support for students ages 5-21 in a supportive, specialized educational environment. This contract position is ideal for a skilled SLP experienced in serving students across K–12 settings, particularly those with autism, severe cognitive disabilities, and significant behavioral needs. The school is a private, year-round institution offering services to 78 students in 10 self-contained classrooms, each designed for an 8:1:3 student-to-staff ratio. Most students are non-verbal and utilize alternative communication systems, making expertise in AAC an asset. You’ll work in a dedicated therapy space, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate communication growth and access to education.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and active state licensure
  • Experience supporting students in K–5, 6–8, and 9–12 grade ranges
  • Demonstrated proficiency with alternative and augmentative communication devices/systems (AAC)
  • Background working with level 3 autism, severe cognitive impairments, and challenging behaviors strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with data-driven IEP processes and progress monitoring
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative work with staff and families

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative speech therapy per IEPs to students in self-contained settings
  • Assess speech-language skills and develop individualized, functional treatment goals
  • Support communication in both verbal and non-verbal students using AAC and tailored strategies
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and aides to foster a positive, communicative classroom atmosphere
  • Monitor, document, and report on student progress toward IEP goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning

This contract opportunity offers the chance to genuinely make a difference, working school hours (7:45am–3:15pm, Monday through Friday) from ASAP through the end of the school year, within a positive, resource-rich environment. If you have the experience and passion for helping students with complex communication needs thrive, apply today to take the next step in your career.
