Step into a rewarding contract position supporting preschoolers as a school-based Registered Nurse. This opportunity runs from June 1 through June 25, coinciding with the end of the school year, with potential to extend into the Extended School Year (July-August) for interested professionals. You’ll work with a small group of 12 preschool-aged students, providing compassionate care in a welcoming educational environment located near Randolph, NY.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in New York
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
  • Strong skills in pediatric health assessment and medication administration
  • Ability to respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies
  • Clear and effective communicator with students, staff, and families
  • Familiarity with Individual Healthcare Plans (IHPs) a plus
  • Commitment to maintaining student confidentiality and adhering to all health and safety protocols

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily health needs of 12 preschool-aged students
  • Administer medications, manage minor injuries and illnesses, and coordinate care according to each child’s medical plan
  • Maintain accurate health records and complete required documentation
  • Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics as needed
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and administrative staff to support student well-being
  • Monitor and enforce infection control procedures in accordance with school and state guidelines
