Embark on a rewarding opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist supporting elementary students in a school-based setting. This contract role offers immediate start and continues through June 18, 2020, with high likelihood of extension into the summer for compensatory services. The assignment centers around serving a caseload of 38 elementary students, addressing their speech and language development needs.
The ideal candidate brings adaptability, clinical expertise, and proficiency in navigating virtual/remote instruction, as all services are currently being delivered remotely. While the preference leans toward traditional on-site interaction, an openness to candidates comfortable with teletherapy is welcomed, reflecting the current necessity for a remote learning environment. The onboarding process is expedited, as fingerprinting and drug screening requirements are waived, allowing for a quick transition into this crucial support role.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure and certification as required for school SLPs
- Experience in school settings preferred, particularly with elementary populations
- Comfort with remote/virtual instruction and appropriate technology
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Solid documentation and case management abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to a caseload of 38 elementary students
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with educators, special education staff, and families
- Contribute to IEP meetings and required documentation
- Adjust to the evolving needs of students in a remote environment
