Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ communication skills in a school-based setting near Renton, WA. This contract position offers two openings with a start date of September 2, 2026, and will continue through June 17, 2027. Enjoy a full-time schedule averaging 37.5 hours a week (not to exceed 40), typically beginning at 8:00 a.m., with end times around 3:30 p.m.—exact hours may vary to accommodate school assignments and meetings. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 50 students, and your preferences regarding age group and population will be thoughtfully considered.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid state license or eligibility as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Prior experience in school settings is highly valued
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to build rapport with both students and educational staff
- Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary team work
- Skilled in IEP development, progress monitoring, and therapy documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with diverse speech and language needs
- Deliver direct and consultative speech therapy services as outlined in IEPs
- Work closely with teachers, families, and team members for student support
- Track student progress and adjust goals as required
- Participate in meetings related to student care, eligibility, and progress (daily schedules may shift to accommodate these)
- Engage in professional development and school initiatives
