Position Overview
Sussex County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and qualified Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (CCC-SLP) to provide speech-language services to students through a teletherapy model during the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity allows clinicians to make a meaningful impact while working remotely with a supportive educational team.
Caseload Information
- K-12 student population
- Caseload and school assignments will be discussed during the interview process
- Caseloads will be assigned based on student needs and clinician experience
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology License
- Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) Pupil Personnel Services License with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous school-based experience preferred
- Virtual therapy experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual evaluations, assessments, and screenings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
- Provide direct and indirect speech-language therapy services
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and special education teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
- Participate in virtual meetings, including IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
Screening & Credentialing Requirements
- Successful completion of all district onboarding requirements
- Background check and fingerprinting as required by the district and state
- Internal eligibility interview
