School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Rochester, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' communication development in a dynamic educational setting near Rochester, IL. This full-time assignment is set to begin in March and extends through the conclusion of the school year, currently scheduled for May 21st (pending any snow day adjustments). Designed to provide essential Speech-Language Pathology services during a planned leave, this role allows you to positively impact the lives of a diverse caseload.

In this engaging position, you'll work primarily in-person with students ranging from Kindergarten through High School. You'll support a caseload of 28 students, the majority of whom receive individualized services. Notably, 17 of these students use Speech Generating Devices (SGDs), offering an opportunity to apply and expand your AAC expertise. The schedule will include a Spring Break (April 12-16) and a school holiday on March 25th.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current state licensure
• Previous experience within a school-based setting strongly preferred
• Comfort and proficiency working with Speech Generating Devices (SGDs)
• Ability to provide both individualized and small group therapy
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEP goals tailored to each student's needs
• Deliver direct speech and language therapy, focusing on individualized support
• Document progress and maintain records in compliance with school standards
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and families
• Provide guidance and support for students utilizing SGDs
