What you’ll bring:

  • Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license—CCC required
  • Eligible for or possess NYS license and TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities) certification as applicable
  • Experience with both direct therapy and consultative services in educational environments
  • Familiarity with assessment tools and documentation requirements
  • Skill adapting interventions, including for students who use AAC devices
  • Commitment to professional development and ongoing licensure requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • Screen, assess, and evaluate students with suspected speech, language, voice, fluency, or articulation needs through both formal and informal measures
  • Interpret data and observations, gather case histories, and deliver actionable insights
  • Actively participate in CSE/CPSE meetings to support special education eligibility decisions and develop, review, or revise IEPs
  • Deliver individualized and small group therapy, customizing interventions in both pull-out/push-in or classroom consultation models
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to generalize progress across academic and social contexts
  • Guide and support staff through training on communication strategies and classroom accommodations
  • Maintain thorough records, produce detailed evaluation and progress reports, and ensure compliance with IDEA and NYS regulations
  • Stay up to date with best practices and maintain credentialing, fulfilling all state-mandated professional development activities
