Set in a friendly elementary environment, this full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a real impact on the communication skills and academic progress of 2nd and 3rd graders—all located within the same building. With a manageable caseload of 40 students, you'll collaborate with educators to nurture growth and confidence among your students.
Your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices will be an asset as you develop personalized strategies for students with diverse needs. From August 12 through November 6, 2026, you will play an integral part in supporting families and school teams while delivering high-quality speech-language services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Valid Illinois SLP-CCC license and Professional Educator License (PEL) mandatory
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Proficiency with AAC devices and familiarity addressing a range of communication challenges
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and therapy services for 2nd and 3rd grade students
- Support IEP development and implementation in collaboration with school staff
- Document progress and maintain accurate records
- Consult with teachers and families, offering strategies for communication across settings
- Proactively manage a caseload of 40 students, adapting services as needed
