Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting middle school students’ communication development for the upcoming academic year. This in-person, onsite role runs from August 17th through approximately June 15th (with the possibility of a brief extension for snow days) and is located in the Rutland, VT area. You’ll work across one or two buildings—each only a short drive apart—and serve a dedicated caseload of about 35 students in grades 6 through 8.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field (or eligible for Clinical Fellowship Year)
- Valid state licensure/certification as an SLP or SLP-CF; consideration may be given to well-qualified SLPA candidates
- Experience or strong interest in working with school-age students, particularly in grades 6–8
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to providing compassionate, evidence-based interventions in an educational environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students identified with communication needs, both individually and in small groups
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and progress for each student on your caseload
- Conduct evaluations and assessments as required for initial and ongoing student needs
- Collaborate regularly with teachers, special educators, families, and other school professionals to support student success
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and progress notes in compliance with school and state requirements
