Step into an enriching role supporting students’ communication needs as a contract Speech-Language Pathologist, working alongside a collaborative school team. This school-based opportunity covers the academic year, from late August through June, offering consistency and meaningful engagement with young learners in grades PreK-3 through 3rd grade.
In this position, you’ll work 35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, with set hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The caseload ranges from 40 to 50 students, all with mild to moderate disabilities, and you will share responsibilities with another dedicated SLP. Your expertise will help foster communication skills through both small group and one-on-one sessions, ensuring students with speech-language needs receive comprehensive support in a nurturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Maryland Department of Health certification (required)
- Experience serving pediatric and early elementary populations, ideally in a school setting
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside another SLP and classroom staff
- Effective communication with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech and language services to students with SL service needs in grades PreK-3 to 3rd
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment goals
- Document progress and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
- Adapt interventions for small group and individualized (1:1) sessions
- Provide input and support to teachers and staff regarding students’ speech-language development
