Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working onsite as a school-based Occupational Therapist in the vibrant Santa Cruz area. This full-time assignment begins in August, covering a standard 186-day contract with weekly hours ranging from 37.5 to 40. You’ll support a caseload of 55 students in grades TK-8th, traveling between 2-3 school sites within the district to make a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Possession of a valid California OT license and relevant certification
- Schools-based OT experience preferred; related experience in healthcare, pediatric, or educational settings will be considered
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to adapt to diverse student needs
- Organized, detail-minded, and comfortable managing a moderate caseload across multiple campuses
- Excellent communication skills with both staff and families
- Ability to work onsite and travel between assigned schools as needed
- Candidates must submit two letters of recommendation and a sample student report with all personal information removed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to TK-8 students, adapting strategies tailored to each individual’s needs
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop IEP goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation of sessions, progress reports, and assessments
- Consult and coordinate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student participation and independence
- Travel between 2-3 school sites, managing schedules and addressing caseload priorities
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as required
