Make a meaningful difference in young children’s lives as a Speech-Language Pathologist serving early childhood students (ages 3-5) on a full-time contract basis. This is a maternity leave position covering the first semester of the school year and follows a traditional 10-month academic calendar. Located near Schenectady, NY, you’ll enjoy the support of a collaborative special education team while working with a manageable caseload of 40-42 sessions per week.
This assignment prioritizes candidates seeking full-time hours, but those interested in part-time opportunities are also encouraged to apply. Student contact hours run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM, creating a predictable schedule and excellent work-life balance.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license in New York State
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required
- Experience with early childhood populations (ages 3-5) preferred
- Ability to work on-site; virtual supervision is provided for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates
- SLPAs are not supported in this role
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy services in both individual and group settings to preschool-aged children
- Conduct assessments and develop appropriate therapy goals and IEPs
- Document session notes, progress reports, and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary educational teams
- Support students’ growth in communication, language, and social skills through engaging, evidence-based interventions
- Participate in team meetings and maintain timely communication with teachers and staff
