A specialized opportunity is available for a certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive services in an elementary school setting on a leave contract basis. This role focuses on delivering support to students across multiple grade levels, including elementary and high school, within the same campus environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct speech-language therapy services five days per week.
  • Managing a caseload of approximately 65 students (55 elementary K-6 and 10 ninth grade high school students).
  • Addressing a range of communication challenges associated with disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Other Health Impairments (OHI), Emotional Disturbance (ED), and Intellectual Disabilities (ID).
  • Conducting teletherapy and in-person therapy sessions in alignment with best practices and individual student needs.
  • Collaborating with educators, support staff, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with relevant healthcare and educational standards.
  • Adapting therapy schedules to align with the school day, with shifts from either 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Experience in pediatric healthcare or school-based SLP settings, including teletherapy.
  • Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) preferred or completed.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload involving students with complex communication needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary teams.

This temporary contract position commences on September 10, 2025, and concludes on January 15, 2026. The role is located in Scranton, PA, offering the chance to impact students' communication development during a critical period of the academic year.
