School Speech Language Pathologist - Sherman, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a school-based environment this spring. This full-time assignment starts in March and is anticipated to continue through the end of the academic year, with the last scheduled day of school set for May 21st (pending possible weather adjustments). You'll be stepping in to cover a planned leave, with ample planning support from the school administration to ensure a seamless transition.

Key Details:

• Full-time contract beginning in March, potentially extending through May 21st
• Spring Break: April 12-16; No school on March 25th for Good Friday
• Onsite role—presence is needed for optimal student support
• Caseload of approximately 28 students, primarily working one-on-one
• Majority of students are supported individually, with 17 utilizing Speech Generating Devices (SGDs)
• Student population spans from Kindergarten through High School

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, with current state licensure
• Preferred: Experience in school-based speech services and familiarity with special education processes
• Comfortable and knowledgeable in working with SGDs
• Able to provide targeted, individualized therapy across a range of ages and needs
• Strong communication and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech therapy services to assigned students
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to support student communication outcomes
• Maintain accurate session notes and progress reports
• Participate in relevant school meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
