Step into an impactful contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist working with school-aged children in the vibrant Silver Spring, MD area. In this role, you'll support students across up to three school sites (including possible assignments in the Rockville and Washington DC area), providing life-changing speech and language interventions through the 2026-2027 academic year. Caseloads vary based on grade—elementary students typically do not exceed 40, while middle school may reach 48-57 at peak enrollment.

An onsite commitment is required (35 hours per week preferred; part-time candidates must be available three days weekly). You'll receive individualized assignments based on your licensing, skillset, and location preferences, with supervision to support your success—ideal for experienced SLPs or passionate Clinical Fellows (CFYs).

Qualifications:

  • Active Maryland SLP licensure required, with license documentation ready for credentialing
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; exceptional CFYs considered with supervision available
  • Previous school-based SLP experience strongly preferred (one year minimum), but outstanding references or equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Must pass a House Bill background check per Maryland state requirements
  • Willingness to work across multiple school sites in a dynamic educational setting
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative speech-language therapy services to a diverse caseload of elementary and/or middle school students
  • Collaborate closely with other educators, families, and support staff
  • Complete assessments, maintain detailed records, and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Adjust to varying caseloads and site assignments as needed
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development
