School Speech Language Pathologist - Springfield, Illinois

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a vibrant school setting near Springfield, IL! This full-time contract Speech-Language Pathologist role will cover a leave beginning in March and extending through the end of the school year, currently slated for May 21st. You’ll work with a manageable caseload of 28 students, with most sessions delivered individually. Notably, 17 students utilize Speech Generating Devices (SGDs), making your expertise with AAC especially valuable. The position spans ages from Kindergarten through High School, and you’ll have a well-defined schedule, including time off for Spring Break (April 12-16) and Good Friday (March 25).

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current state licensure in Illinois (or eligibility)
• Prior experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Expertise with Speech Generating Devices (SGD) and Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide in-person speech and language therapy to a diverse group of K-12 students
• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress records in compliance with school guidelines
• Adapt therapy techniques for students using SGDs and other assistive technologies
