As you serve K-5 students in a center-based program, you’ll gain invaluable skills supporting children with intellectual disabilities—many of whom utilize communication devices. Expand your expertise in assistive technology and individualized care plans while collaborating with dedicated educators and leaders who will help broaden your perspective on school-based therapy and IEP processes.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in Colorado as an SLP
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Comfortable working with students who have intellectual disabilities, including those using communication devices
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide services five days a week within a K-5 center-based program
- Complete thorough assessments and provide direct/indirect services as outlined by each student’s IEP
- Attend and contribute actively to IEP meetings
- Collaborate with educational teams and families to support student progress
- Adapt therapy approaches for students with varying abilities; caseload determined upon interview
