Provide critical support to students during maternity leave coverage at local schools, making a positive difference in their academic and social success.

You’ll be assigned to one campus per assignment, focusing on either the K-8 or high school age group. Collaborate closely with on-site colleagues as you help students with communicative, academic, and developmental needs.

What you’ll need:

  • Valid and active Florida SLP licensure (CCC required)
  • Previous school-based SLP experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and familiarity working with K-12 or high school age groups
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and time management skills
  • Ability to meet time-sensitive credentialing, including district fingerprinting

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver direct speech-language services according to IEPs and established goals
  • Complete thorough student assessments, maintain detailed documentation, and participate in team meetings
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to support personnel (such as an onsite SLPA), when applicable
  • Manage a caseload at either Palm Pointe K-8 (K-8, multiple ASD units, with another SLP on-site) or Ft. Pierce Central High School (high school caseload, on-site SLPA two days per week)
  • Work a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (35 hours/week)
