Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist, supporting K-12 students in a collaborative and inclusive school setting near Syracuse, NY. This contract position, beginning September and extending through June for the 2025–2026 academic year, centers primarily on elementary students, with some work with high schoolers, and offers the chance to truly make a difference.
In this role, you’ll manage a caseload of approximately 28 students, delivering comprehensive speech and language assessments, crafting individualized therapy plans, and providing direct intervention. You’ll be actively involved in team collaborations—partnering with educators, support staff, and families to optimize each student’s communication skills and educational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed speech and language evaluations and formulate targeted treatment plans
- Deliver direct therapy sessions customized to individual student goals
- Advise and collaborate with classroom teachers to implement accommodations or modifications
- Monitor progress, maintaining accurate documentation and updating plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings, helping establish and achieve student objectives
- Provide consultative support and guidance for parents and caregivers
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current state SLP license (or eligibility to obtain one)
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Solid understanding of IEP processes and relevant educational regulations
