A rewarding opportunity awaits for a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a contract assignment in an engaging school environment near Tacoma, WA. This onsite position supports students at an elementary school, providing essential speech and language services for a caseload of approximately 40 students. The assignment begins September 2, 2026, and continues through February 15, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 32.5 hours.
Responsibilities will focus on direct therapy, progress monitoring, and supporting the school’s behavior program. While the current caseload does not involve students using AAC or presenting with medically fragile needs, collaboration with educational staff remains integral for holistic student success.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Washington State Speech-Language Pathologist license (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of fingerprinting through OSPI (or willingness to complete)
- Valid Washington ESA (Educational Staff Associate) credential (or willingness to obtain)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Prior experience with school-aged children or school-based SLP roles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in multidisciplinary settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite speech and language therapy to elementary students
- Maintain and organize documentation for student progress and IEPs
- Support the behavior program at the school site as needed
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to address student needs
- Communicate regularly with caregivers, educators, and related service providers
