An exciting opportunity is now available for a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist eager to make an impact in a dynamic middle school setting. This contract role offers a rewarding chance to support students on their educational journey, providing essential speech and language therapy services. The position is full-time, with 37.5 hours each week, and is based onsite for a well-resourced school near Tehachapi, CA. While onsite presence is preferred, candidates open to a short-term virtual arrangement (30-60 days) are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid California SLP license (active status required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Previous experience providing speech therapy services in school settings, preferably at the middle school level
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for middle school students
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Provide direct intervention, consultation, and support in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Maintain detailed documentation, including progress notes and compliance records
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to maximize student success
- Participate actively in IEP meetings to report on student progress and recommend strategies
