Telehealth Speech Language Pathologist | New York

A speech-language pathologist licensed with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is sought for a full-time position in a school setting offering telespeech services in Henrietta, NY. Part-time candidates will also be considered. This contract assignment extends through June 25, 2026.

Responsibilities involve direct and consultative service delivery to students with diverse speech, language, fluency, voice, articulation, or related communication needs. The role includes conducting screenings and administering formal and informal assessments to determine students' present levels of performance. Assessment duties also encompass interpreting data, compiling case histories, and classroom observations.

Active participation in Committees on Special Education (CSE) or Preschool Special Education (CPSE) is required to determine eligibility for special education services under New York state regulations. The professional will contribute to developing, reviewing, and revising Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Plans, including setting goals and specifying service delivery models.

Therapeutic interventions must be delivered in the least restrictive environment, through individualized or small-group sessions, both pull-out and push-in models, or classroom-based consultation. Materials and methods should be tailored to the student’s communication needs and incorporate augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) techniques where appropriate. Emphasis is placed on embedding strategies into daily routines to encourage generalization in academic and social settings.

Collaboration with teachers, special educators, families, and related service providers is essential for effective communication support, accommodations, and staff training. Documentation must be thorough and compliant with state and federal special education laws, including IDEA and New York Education Law. Maintaining accurate records of evaluations, progress, and compliance paperwork is critical.

Candidates must hold current New York State licensure and, if applicable, TSSLD certification. Commitment to professional development and adherence to timelines for evaluations and meetings remain integral to service quality.
