A contract opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in telespeech and teletherapy services. This position supports remote student populations within an educational setting located in Laurel, MD. The role requires delivering high-quality, virtual speech-language pathology services aligned with school-based protocols and student needs.

Location:

  • Laurel, Maryland (Teletherapy services)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide telepractice speech and language evaluations and therapy to students across various grade levels, including elementary and middle school.
  • Manage caseloads with sensitivity to individual student needs, adhering to recommended maximums (elementary up to 40 students, middle school up to 48, with potential peaks at 57).
  • Collaborate with supervisors to determine appropriate caseload assignments tailored to professional strengths and geographic considerations.
  • Document therapy sessions, progress, and evaluations according to district and professional standards.
  • Comply with all credentialing, background check, and licensing requirements mandated by state and district authorities.
  • Participate in pre-assignment interviews and screening assessments to ensure best fit for service delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field.
  • Active Maryland SLP licensure.
  • Minimum three years of virtual, school-based speech-language pathology experience post-COVID (at least two within the past five years).
  • Familiarity with teletherapy technology and virtual service delivery methods.
  • Ability to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage virtual caseloads effectively.

  • Demonstrated adaptability to varied student age groups and caseload sizes.
  • Experience handling a mix of assessments and therapy across diverse speech-language disorders.

Work Schedule:

  • Part-time: 35 hours per week over three full days (schedule to be determined based on availability and caseload).

  • Proof of licensure (image of license).
  • References, including comments from supervisory or director-level personnel.
  • Completion of background check and credentialing as per state legislation.
