Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - MI

A virtual role is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) licensed in Michigan, specializing in teletherapy within a K-12 school environment. This contract position offers approximately 20 hours per week starting immediately through June 11, 2027, with potential for additional hours. The setting emphasizes virtual service delivery, supported by a client experienced in working with remote providers.

The student population is richly diverse, representing over 2000 countries, with a significant number of first-year English Language Learners and various religious and cultural backgrounds. Many students speak different dialects of Arabic, reflecting a multicultural community. Candidates with a preference or experience in serving particular age groups within K-12 are encouraged to express their interest.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering teletherapy services aligned with students’ individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborating closely with onsite personnel who assist in managing student participation and session monitoring
• Utilizing provided technology such as dedicated therapy rooms and headsets to maintain effective virtual communication
• Employing the PowerSchools platform for IEP documentation and case management, with training provided to contractors
• Coordinating caseload schedules in partnership with onsite support staff following receipt of rosters and student timetables

Desired qualifications or experience:

• Current Michigan licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC)
• Proven proficiency in telepractice models for speech therapy, ideally within school settings
• Familiarity with diverse student populations, especially English Language Learners and multicultural classrooms
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet the needs of students from varying linguistic and cultural backgrounds
• Competence in using educational software systems such as PowerSchools or willingness to learn
