Step into a dynamic educational environment and make a meaningful impact supporting three medically fragile classrooms for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity runs from August 10, 2026, through December 2026 (with a potential, though not guaranteed, extension through the remainder of the year) and involves providing speech-language services to students during a maternity leave coverage. Collaborate closely with another SLP and SLPA so you will always have team support in this role.

Your experience with AAC devices is essential in helping students enhance their communication abilities. Whether you're a licensed SLP with your CCC or an experienced SLPA, your skills will contribute greatly in this highly supportive setting.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid California license or certification as SLP-CCC or SLPA.
  • Prior experience working in school settings, ideally with medically fragile student populations.
  • Proficiency in implementing and troubleshooting AAC devices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and eager to support diverse learners.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech-language therapy to students in medically fragile classrooms.
  • Coordinate with additional SLP and SLPA assigned to the caseload for optimal service delivery.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in conjunction with educational teams.
  • Track progress and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Communicate with teachers, families, and other professionals regarding student progress and needs.
  • Adapt speech-language interventions to best support students with complex, significant challenges.
