This opportunity is focused on supporting three medically fragile classrooms, working alongside another experienced SLP and a dedicated SLPA. The assignment begins August 10, 2026, and is anticipated to continue through December 2026, with the potential for extension through the school year. This position is covering a maternity leave, allowing you to contribute within a supportive, collaborative environment while further developing your expertise.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid SLP-CCC and credentials for school-based speech-language pathology in California
- Clinical experience in elementary school settings, particularly with medically fragile students
- Proficiency and hands-on work with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative speech therapy to students in medically fragile classrooms
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and document progress
- Collaborate closely with classroom staff, another SLP, and a SLPA for coordinated care
- Educate and support teachers and families on AAC device use and communication strategies
- Maintain compliance with IEP goals, state, and district requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed
