This contract position runs from August 7 through June 10 and offers the chance to work on-site with a diverse caseload across multiple locations, based on district needs.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold a valid Professional Educator Certification.
- Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communicative Disorders from a regionally accredited institution.
- Deep understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to programs for children with disabilities.
- Familiarity with pediatric and adolescent development, including medical and psychological assessment tools for identifying needs in students with disabilities.
- Comfortable using terminology relating to both physical and learning disabilities.
- Skilled at interpreting policies, compiling and analyzing educational data, and applying relevant laws.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- ASHA Certification and ABSESPA Licensure are preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and provide intervention for students with speech-language disorders in accordance with federal and state laws.
- Develop individualized education plans, participate in IEP meetings, and collaborate with teachers and families.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records and progress reports in a timely manner.
- Educate school staff and families on best practices for supporting communication needs.
- Adapt to different school locations, ensuring on-site support where it's needed most.
This is an on-site role, and virtual assignments are not available. The number of positions available ranges from 1 to 4, offering the flexibility to accommodate various school needs within the district.
