Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students’ communication growth, working as part of a dynamic Speech-Language Pathology team throughout the school year. This contract position spans a variety of school settings—including preschool, elementary, middle, and high school sites across the area—with a balanced caseload of around 60 students per assignment.
Your expertise will be crucial in providing evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions for children with speech, language, and communication challenges. As you collaborate with other educators and families, you’ll make a genuine impact on students’ academic and social journeys.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current SLP license in Alabama
- Active SLP Educator certification for Alabama (verification available online)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) required—or Clinical Fellowship (CF) working toward CCC
- Experience in school settings preferred
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Ability to support a diverse caseload across several sites
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver direct speech and language therapeutic services to students
- Develop, implement, and regularly update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and produce timely reports
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families on student needs
- Adjust service delivery to meet IEP requirements across multiple campuses
- Maintain organized records and uphold all district and state requirements
