Bring your clinical expertise and passion for supporting students to an engaging school-based role in the West Chester, PA area. This contract opportunity focuses on serving a single site, working closely with children and young adults ages 7-21 who have complex needs, including high-level autism and many non-verbal students. You’ll collaborate with fellow professionals, help develop individualized intervention plans, and witness your impact on a diverse caseload of approximately 30-35 students.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active SLP-CCC required; must hold a valid Educator Certificate
- Prior experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Demonstrated skill in working with students on the autism spectrum, including non-verbal communication support
- Compassion, adaptability, and strong collaborative skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and evaluations tailored to each student’s needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans focused on communication, social skills, and functional outcomes
- Document sessions and student progress, maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student success
- Provide training and support to school personnel as appropriate
Role Details & Perks:
- Full-time schedule: 35 hours per week
- Single school assignment; consistent caseload
- Contract position for the remainder of the school year, with potential for summer extension and next school year
- Flexible interview times; 1:1 virtual format with an onsite visit prior to offer
- Orientation is a blend of onsite and virtual sessions for a smooth transition
- Compensation ranges from $48-$58 per hour, reflecting experience and expertise
