Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid SLP license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA
  • Previous school-based SLP experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with assessments and creating IEP-related documentation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver speech, language, and communication therapy to students as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations of students using approved assessment tools
  • Participate as an active member of the multidisciplinary IEP team, collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Engage with families, sharing strategies and updates to optimize student progress
