Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Virginia
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required
  • Proven experience working with school-aged children, preferably within a K-12 setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Familiarity with IEP development, compliance, and documentation processes

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders among students
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions in alignment with IEP goals
  • Deliver therapy sessions individually or in small groups, adapting techniques to optimize student outcomes
  • Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings with staff and parents
  • Provide consultation and resources to teachers and families to support student needs in the classroom and at home
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with trends and best practices in the field
