Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Active SLP license for Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, but experienced CFYs will also be considered
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly valued
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments to identify students’ speech and language needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, collaborating closely with faculty and parents
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of communication disorders
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and document services according to school and professional guidelines
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing student support plans
  • Consult and collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy strategies into classroom routines
