Step into a dynamic role dedicated to fostering communication skills in young learners through a full-time contract position serving birth to age 5. This school-based opportunity is an integral part of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs, spanning an entire school year. You’ll help shape early educational experiences for children around Washington, IL, supporting growth in both classroom and home settings.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Active state licensure and relevant certifications required
- Previous experience working with early childhood populations, preferably ages birth through 5
- Familiarity with IEP processes and collaboration with districts on student plans
- Ability to provide services in school and home-based settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech therapy services for young children across three sites, with a designated home base
- Work closely with the education team and families within Head Start and Early Head Start settings
- Engage in collaborative IEP development and meetings with district partners
- Provide guidance and support for home visitors as outlined in ISSP/IEP requirements
- Offer strategies and resources that empower families and support parent involvement in children’s development
- Maintain documentation, assess progress, and communicate outcomes to parents and colleagues
