School Speech Language Pathologist - Washington, IL

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ speech and language development in an engaging school environment. We're seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to work with a diverse student population, including AAC users and children who benefit from multimodal communication strategies. This vital role is based at a school near Washington, IL, with a start date as soon as possible and extending through June 2027.

You’ll work a consistent weekday schedule of 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, supporting a caseload of 38 students. Become a valued advocate and facilitator for their communication growth.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active SLP license (or eligibility) in Illinois
• Previous experience working within school-based settings
• Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and strategies
• Strong understanding of multimodal communication approaches
• Experience supporting students with behavioral needs preferred
• Collaborative, compassionate, and flexible mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for students’ speech and language needs
• Provide direct therapy to students, utilizing AAC and multimodal supports as needed
• Implement IEPs and provide ongoing updates in consultation with teachers and support staff
• Foster a supportive, positive environment for children with unique communication and behavioral needs
• Communicate regularly with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document progress and maintain compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
