Based at a middle school near Waterbury, CT, you’ll provide vital support from August 24, 2027, through December 21, 2027, serving as a long-term substitute. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid SLP licensure in Connecticut.
- Previous experience supporting students within a school setting (middle school experience preferred).
- Familiarity with a range of disabilities and diverse student needs.
- Experience with IEP implementation, documentation, and participation in team meetings.
- Comfortable conducting evaluations, writing comprehensive reports, and communicating with families and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy and consultative services aligned with each student’s IEP.
- Serve a caseload of 23 students with varying classifications and individualized plans.
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations, preparing thorough written reports.
- Complete trimester progress reports for all assigned students.
- Actively participate in annual review meetings and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Potentially assist with non-instructional school duties such as lunch or bus supervision as needed.
- Maintain thorough records and ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
