Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Waukegan, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• Current state licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC) or qualified Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates considered
• Background in pediatric SLP services, with preference for school-based experience
• Strong familiarity with a broad range of speech and language disorders commonly identified in school populations
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and fellow SLPs
• Experience with teletherapy is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, voice, and communication disorders for students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Provide therapy services both in-person and virtually, depending on student needs and district resources
• Progress monitor and regularly document student outcomes and therapy adjustments
• Split the caseload evenly with a collaborating SLP, fostering partnership and shared expertise within the building
• Educate and support teaching staff and families, empowering them to reinforce strategies for successful communication development
