This position offers the chance to provide impactful speech-language services in a school setting, focusing primarily on preschool-aged children. Engage with a diverse PK-8 caseload, utilizing your expertise with AAC devices and experience with students on the autism spectrum. The assignment spans from September 8 to June 18, with a flexible two-day-per-week schedule that allows for work-life balance.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current CCC.
- Valid license to practice as an SLP.
- Proven school-based experience, preferably with pediatric populations.
- Familiarity with AAC devices and evidence-based intervention for ASD.
- Comfort managing a PK-8 caseload, primarily early childhood.
- Collaborative approach and strong communication skills.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for students, mainly in pre-kindergarten.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans, focusing on augmentative and alternative communication and autism spectrum disorders.
- Document progress and maintain compliance with IEP requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support educational goals.
- Provide training and recommendations regarding AAC devices as needed.
- Engage in IEP meetings and contribute to team planning.
