Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students across East and Southern areas of the district as a valued Speech-Language Pathologist. This position offers an excellent opportunity for both experienced SLPs and Clinical Fellows (CFs)—with district supervision available—who are licensed in North Carolina and excited to make a positive difference in school-based settings.

Collaborate with a community of professionals in a supportive environment that values your expertise. You will provide direct therapy, evaluations, and develop individualized plans for caseloads of up to 35 students. The district prioritizes SLPs who have familiarity with Autism Spectrum Disorder and students with significant cognitive challenges. Flexibility is offered on caseload assignments and preferences, to be tailored during your interview to match your interests and strengths.

Key Qualifications:

  • North Carolina SLP license (required)
  • SLP-CCC or CFs encouraged; district supervision for CFs is provided
  • Solid background or comfort working with school-based populations, ideally with experience addressing autism and low cognitive disabilities
  • Commitment to serving students full-time for the duration of the upcoming academic year (August to June)
  • Must be comfortable working onsite; remote or hybrid roles are not available
  • SLPA applicants are not eligible for this position at this time

Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering speech and language therapy with care and creativity to diverse student groups
  • Conducting assessments and writing detailed therapy reports
  • Collaborating with teachers and multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor IEPs
  • Engaging in consultative services for families and staff
