Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist supporting students in the Washington DC metro area (just south of the city). This full-time role offers the chance to make a difference across elementary, middle, and high school settings. Your expertise will support the communication needs and academic growth of students throughout a 185-day assignment, spanning from August 3, 2026, to May 27, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold active Virginia Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) licensure
  • School-based SLP experience highly preferred
  • Ability to manage caseloads spanning a range of age groups and communication needs
  • Thorough understanding of speech/language evaluation, intervention, and documentation practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt approaches for diverse learning populations
  • Commitment to in-person therapy (remote and hybrid assignments are not available)
  • Willingness to complete a Virginia Department of Social Services background check and TB screening as part of credentialing

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to students in assigned schools (assignments are available across elementary, middle, and high school levels)
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations, develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and provide data-driven interventions
  • Consult and collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support student progress
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
  • Attend meetings, participate in professional development, and provide expert recommendations as needed

This contract is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and will allow you to utilize your clinical expertise while gaining valuable experience in an engaging school environment with a varied caseload.
