Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with a dynamic K-12 population, primarily students in grades K-6, throughout the upcoming school year. This role will allow you to collaborate with a supportive team and make a daily impact on students across various academic settings, including three elementary schools, one intermediate school, one middle school, a high school, and additional placements within the local county.
You’ll be responsible for providing speech and language services—ranging from evaluations to ongoing therapy—using both onsite and flexible teletherapy methods (up to one day per week). SLPs are equipped with school-issued laptops and granted full access to the IEP management system, Sapphire, ensuring you have the necessary tools to succeed in your role. Typical caseloads average about 35 students per SLP, supporting a well-balanced workload and individualized focus.
Key qualifications and experience:
- Current Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathology certification
- Previous experience with pediatric and school-based SLP services (required to fulfill Medicaid billing practices)
- Comfort working with K-12 students, with a focus on the elementary level
- Proficiency in both in-person and teletherapy service delivery models
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Commitment to utilizing electronic records via Sapphire
- Comfortable collaborating across multiple school sites
Responsibilities:
- Perform speech and language evaluations and direct therapy services
- Develop and implement IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize the school’s dedicated technology for service documentation and teletherapy sessions
