Make a difference in the lives of elementary students by supporting their communication growth in a vibrant school setting near Anaheim, CA. This contract role seeks two passionate and adaptable Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) who are comfortable collaborating in a dynamic education environment and working with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs.
Current opportunities offer a schedule of 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, with the possibility of transitioning to 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours per week) as team needs evolve. There is also potential for schedules to reach 30 hours per week pending administrative approval, allowing for some flexibility.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid SLPA license in the state of California
- Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings, preferably elementary-aged students
- Familiarity and comfort with AAC devices and strategies
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Positive and supportive approach with a genuine desire to foster student growth and independence
- Reliable, organized, and adaptable to shifting schedules and caseloads
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to elementary students under supervision of an SLP
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy strategies, including support for AAC users
- Collect data and maintain accurate documentation of student progress
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Adapt to changing schedules and caseloads as needed within the contract
