This full-time contract position is designed for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work closely with young learners from preschool age and up, delivering high-quality speech and language services throughout the school year and extended school year (ESY) programs.
Key Qualifications:
- Active California SLPA license required
- Previous experience in school settings or healthcare preferred
- Confident working with diverse student groups, including preschoolers and early elementary students
- Strong collaborative skills for working alongside SLPs, teachers, and other educational professionals
- Effective communication and documentation abilities
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to small groups (2-4 students) in 20-30 minute sessions, supporting a variety of communication needs
- Conduct individualized 1:1 sessions for preschool students or when indicated, tailoring interventions to maximize student progress
- Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Record and monitor student performance and progress, maintaining detailed and confidential therapy notes
- Contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment and assist with family and team communications as needed
