Step into a rewarding contract position where you’ll play a vital part in supporting students’ communication needs for the remainder of the school year. This School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) opportunity begins ASAP and runs through the end of the school year in a welcoming educational environment near Berkeley, CA. If you’re seeking hands-on experience and mentorship, supervision is provided at no cost so you can confidently deliver high-quality services.

You’ll work on-site 3 to 5 days per week, contributing to a collaborative team dedicated to student growth. The assignment is ideal for someone interested in making an immediate impact while finishing out Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a manageable caseload of 55 students. The program runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. There may also be an opportunity to extend your work slightly into the summer for the Extended School Year program, which features a reduced schedule.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Holds or is eligible for California SLPA licensure
  • Able to secure or currently has appropriate supervisory support (supervision costs covered)
  • Previous school-based SLPA experience is a plus, but a strong commitment to supporting children is essential
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students’ speech and language goals under licensed supervision
  • Assist with completing IEPs and required documentation
  • Facilitate classroom activities designed to improve communication skills
  • Collaborate effectively with speech pathologists, educators, and families
