Step into a rewarding school-based role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a vibrant community near Berkeley, CA. This contract opportunity runs through the end of the school year, with potential for a lighter summer extension. Work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful outcomes for youth while managing an engaging caseload.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid SLPA licensure required
- Previous school-based experience a plus, though not required
- Willingness to work under supervision; supervision costs are covered
- Comfortable with a caseload of approximately 55 students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to start as soon as possible and remain for the duration of the school year
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services in accordance with students’ IEPs
- Complete documentation and IEPs as assigned
- Collaborate with supervising SLP and school staff to implement therapy plans
- Maintain detailed records and progress reports for each student
- Support students ranging from elementary through high school as needed
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, student-centered environment
Schedule & Additional Details:
- Flexible schedule: 3-5 days per week on site
- Standard work hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Position lasts from ASAP through June 5th (end of school year), with modest hours possible for summer session
- Cost of clinical supervision will be fully covered for qualified SLPAs
