School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Biddeford, Maine

Step into a dynamic, in-person position supporting high school students in a day treatment program for the full academic year. This contract opportunity centers around working closely with a caseload of approximately 20 students, each presenting a wide range of communication abilities. Your expertise as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with hands-on AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) experience will be instrumental in helping students find their voice and thrive in a supportive educational setting.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid SLPA licensure for school-based practice
• Demonstrated experience incorporating AAC devices and strategies
• Previous work with school-aged populations, preferably high school students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with educational staff and families
• Ability to maintain thorough documentation and progress tracking

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct therapy and support for students with diverse communication needs, under the supervision of a licensed SLP
• Integrate AAC solutions tailored to individual students
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers to maximize student outcomes
• Adjust and adapt therapy materials and techniques according to each student’s goals
• Participate in team meetings, IEP development, and ongoing student assessments
