This short-term assignment, running from mid-October to early February, centers on delivering speech-language pathology assistant services under the guidance of an experienced, supportive SLP supervisor. You’ll begin by connecting with your supervising SLP to ensure a great team fit and proactive collaboration.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid, active California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license
- Minimum of 3 months hands-on experience as an SLPA, preferably in a school environment
- Comfortable working with TK-5 caseloads and adapting to a school setting
- Spanish language skills are a plus, though not required
- Strong communication, organization, and a positive approach to teamwork
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy and support services to elementary students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Assist with documentation, progress tracking, and parent/caregiver communication
- Collaborate with classroom educators, staff, and caregivers to support student IEP goals and speech-language development
- Prepare and organize therapy materials, adapting activities for diverse student needs
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing supervision for consistent growth and support
