Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Hold an active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license in the state of Texas
- Previous experience working with school-aged children is highly preferred
- Knowledge of speech and language disorders in pediatric populations
- Ability to implement therapy activities as directed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Strong organizational and communication skills for maintaining accurate records and interacting with students, staff, and families
- Adaptability and a team-oriented mindset, fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP, addressing both speech and language needs as outlined in students’ individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assist in assessing and documenting student progress, maintaining thorough records in compliance with school policies
- Prepare, organize, and utilize therapy materials and activities tailored to students’ functional communication goals
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and team discussions by offering insights on student development
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff to ensure consistent support and generalization of skills within the classroom
