Ideal Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • Active SLPA license or eligibility for licensure in Virginia
  • Previous experience in a school setting is a plus, but not required
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Compassion, creativity, and a passion for fostering student success

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to assist with therapy sessions for students
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support students with various speech or language disorders
  • Track progress and document student performance according to school and district guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to help meet student communication goals
  • Prepare engaging therapy materials and contribute ideas to enhance student learning
  • Assist in screenings and assessments as directed
