Make a meaningful impact supporting students by working as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school-based setting on a contract basis near Chesapeake, VA. In this role, you’ll help deliver high-quality speech and language services alongside licensed Speech-Language Pathologists—making a difference in students’ communication outcomes and daily lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized education and therapy plans
  • Provide targeted support to students with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Collect data and monitor student progress in collaboration with supervising SLP
  • Prepare therapy materials and maintain organized records
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights as needed
  • Communicate professionally with teachers, staff, and parents
  • Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Qualifications:

  • Active SLPA licensure in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Previous experience working in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
  • A positive, student-focused attitude and a desire to support student development
