This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, focusing on skill-building for independence in a personalized, nurturing program. Work primarily in Ludlow, MA, with the overall Compass High Program dedicated to fostering growth outside traditional classrooms.
Estimated assignment dates run from late August through late June, with a schedule of 32.5 hours per week. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in delivering targeted communication support using your SLPA skill set—particularly your expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.
Ideal Experience & Credentials
- Holds current state-required licensure or certification for SLPA or SLP-CF
- Experience in school-based settings with high school populations preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with AAC devices is essential
- Background working with students with ASD or diverse learning needs is highly valued
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech-language services to high school students in a specialized program
- Implement and track individualized student plans in a supportive, experienced team environment
- Regularly utilize AAC technology to enhance student engagement and communication
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and liaise with educators and families as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with district and program guidelines
